Republic of New Zealand Proposal

A special presentation from the Wakaminenga National Congress in Hastings on 24 August 2025 outlined a proposal for a new governance constitution in New Zealand, aiming to revive the original intent of He Wakaputanga 1835, Declaration of Independence and establish a republican government.

This proposal is lawful and legitimate and draws on historical context to support New Zealand’s move toward sovereign independence, economic growth, and the protection of rights for all citizens, including Maori, Pakeha, Kiwis, and immigrants.  Dr. Stevens is an historian on Christian faith in New Zealand as well as religious theology. His published research includes the Freemason influence on New Zealand’s development and has proved popular with a wide audience both nationally and internationally. He has prepared a draft governance constitution that is not yet published.

This presentation summarizes why and how New Zealand could lawfully become a constitutional republic. Dr. Stevens has invited the Wakaminenga Maori Government to review and critique his proposal.  Arikinui Ripekatangi Leader of Wakaminenga Maori Government says a response will be provided shortly.  A final draft will be presented  to the Wakaminenga National Congress of Nu Tireni New Zealand for a review and consenting process.

  1. I feel very protective of He Wakaputanga and our endeavour. I think we should stick with Nu Tireni New Zealand. New Guinea changed their name to Niu Gini and the world had to go along with it. We should do the same – not as a confrontation but out of self respect.

  2. I have a deep suspicion of all things corporate as well. We should write our own Bill of Rights based directly in He Wakaputanga and the dictates of our conscience and compassion and show the corporates how it should be done. Also, if we “adopt the New Zealand Bill of Rights” we give the corporate government a direct inroad into us as it’s THEIRS and they will want payment for it. Also, we have a strict policy of having nothing to do with the corporation and we shouldn’t change it now – I’m not sure why we’ve forgotten this. We have He Wakaputanga to protect us: there’s no great hurry for writing a “Bill of Rights”. He Wakaputanga is very clear and concise already.

    1. Thank you for raising this issue. The proposal is a draft, I agree, all laws must originate from God, Tikanga and He Wakaputanga. A 2nd draft by WMG is pending that will address the Bill of Rights issue you have raised. Nga mihi nui.

  3. These 4 regions form the Republic/Federation of Nu Tireni, New Zealand within the He Wakaptanga Jurisdiction.
Governance for the people, by the people in accordance with He Wakaputanga.

Tai Tokerau [ North of the Harbour Bridge ]
Tai Hauaurau [ West Coast, North Island ]
Tai Rawiti [ East Coast, North Island ]
Tai Tonga [ South Island including D’urville, Chathams and Stewart Islands ]

From what I understand Human Rights have been defined somewhat in our Statute of Waitangi ?

    1. Hi Ruth. I just noticed in the “proposals” that “the Human Rights Act” in its entirety be adopted. Did you not see that?

      1. Arikinui Ripekatangi

        Tena koe Chris

in final draft any laws referring to New Zealand Government legislation will be omitted including the Human Rights Act. All laws will only be premised on God’s divine law, Tikanga tika pono and aroha, righteousness, truth, love and compassion. Thank you for raising the issue, great to get members feedback.

        Nga mihi

    2. I reckon HW overrides ToW and does require its own constitution – that being HW.
Its one or the other and it cannot be both. Once HW stands up in its own right theres no need for the corporation govts ToW – which is their cabal Maori and cabal pakeha arrangement and it was designed to overcome HW. By rejecting ToW we are left with HW.
When HW publicly announce our overriding superiority to rule the new Republic then the ToW is a dead duck. The Maori cabal (ToW) and the Pakeha cabal (ToW) wont like it one little bit as it will place all the traitors to Maori and Pakeha in the public scrutiny arena and everyone will learn of this huge ripoff. Stay alert!
      God bless you
