Once your application for membership with Wakaminenga Maori Government has been completed you may want to engage in various ways as a sovereign national of Aotearoa Nu Tireni.

A strong Maori cultural framework is part of living in Aotearoa Nu Tireni, and All peoples are invited to be part of and learn our values, history, customs, culture, and language as a thriving and living culture.

You are also invited to participate, contribute, and serve in your local communities through your local Wakaminenga whether you are an individual, part of the community or from a hapu or marae.

You may also wish to serve at a national level in the Wakaminenga Maori Government provided you have the relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Your rights and freedoms and including property rights are protected under Ture tikanga Maori customary law and the internationally recognised constitution of He Wakaputanga 1835 the Declaration of Independence.

Hau ora – Health

  • You can start to use the native jurisdiction for the vaccine exemption cards as a sovereign national of our country.
  • We believe people have the right to make their own voluntary informed decisions about vaccination, testing, and receiving medical treatment.
  • It is not a crime under Native Maori Jurisdiction not to have a vaccine, not to wear a mask, not to be tested, and to go out gathering kai (food) for your whanau (family).
  • However, if you do fall ill with an infectious disease, we would expect you to self-isolate, practice good hygiene, and seek medical attention if life-threatening.
