He Wakaputanga Te Wakaminenga Oati - Pledge to The Confederation of The Declaration of Indepence of Nū Tīreni

I Make this my pledge, To abide by the law of the Creator and the eternal laws of nature (Te Rakau Tapu) wherein I also pledge to abide by the law of our Constitution He Whakaputanga o te rangatiratanga o Nu Tireni 1835, when the sacred Confederation of Tribal Chiefs, in whose light I now stand, made a powerful gesture for the future of this land. That I as a living soul commit to lay aside my private animosities and to consult the safety and welfare of our common country by joining the Confederation of the United People of Aotearoa Nu Tireni.

I will faithfully follow a pathway of peace and commit to the tikanga (principle) of Mauri ora being respect for life’s essence, along with the five pillars below that stand with me in all that I do.
